Our Caloric Stimulator provides fast, easy nystagmus testing. There are NO tanks, pumps
or noise. This extremely small (9.5 x 11 x 5 inches/weighs10 lbs.) water caloric irrigator
connects to your water supply and accurately heats the water to 30 degrees, 37 degrees
or 44 degrees as it flows to the comfortable, lighted hand piece.
The system is an ergonomically designed, table-top caloric irrigator that is easy to setup
and operate. Temperature accuracy is insured through a unique, digital temperature control
system. When the unit is turned on, water flows through the unit, through the hose to
the hand piece, back through the unit to the discharge house. The water temperature is
selected with push-buttons on the front panel. Temperatures stabilize within one minute
of turning the unit on and when changing temperature.
Audible beeps may be programmed to operate when the temperature has not reached
the desired level, when the irrigation starts and when the preset time is reached. The
time may be set from 0 to 99 seconds. The hand piece is equipped with a light for view
the ear canal as you irrigate.
Fittings are provided to connect the supply hose to a standard water faucet with a lever
to use the water from the faucet for other purposes. The discharge hose is placed in the
sink for continuous flow when you are not doing an irrigation. The flow stops when the
unit is turned off. The unit is electrically shut down when the water pressure is removed.
A thermal cutout is activated in the event the unit overheats the water.
