Our Integrated Program: Fall Prevention & Better Hearing
Dizziness and unsteadiness have a tremendous impact on a person’s life. Six million Americans annually seek medical help for it. As the Baby Boomer population ages that number will skyrocket. Involutions provides a comprehensive program to assist offices in preparing themselves for this immense, solutions-driven population. We help offices establish and maintain a reputation as the practice that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and care of balance disorders.

Our program focuses on the vestibular (inner ear) system. Vestibular anatomy and physiology are key to a sense of balance. We provide training in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) which is a mainstay in the prevention of falls. Posturography,, a complete physical examination, thorough case history, and a complete audiological evaluation are all part of the program. We provide training on the equipment and patient protocols, ongoing support, patient education and office tools that will assist you in properly administering a successful program.

The correlation between aging and balance disorders is well established, as is the incidence of significant sensorineural hearing loss. Fifty to seventy-five percent of the patients that come in for fall prevention also need hearing instrument services. Our program prepares offices to address both issues.

The ability to decrease or minimize the risk of falling is a powerful motivator. Once this is accomplished, the groundwork for moving on to further enhance the patient’s quality of life through better communication has been established. An average of 35% of those tested for balance will go on to address their hearing loss through the purchase of hearing instruments. A hand-in-hand approach to helping patients prevent falls and improve hearing will help your aging patients maintain independent, active lives. Our program brings stability and independence to your patients and your practice’s bottom line.
