Tympanometry is an essential part of an audiological test battery, providing valuable
information about the status and health of an individual’s middle ear system. An impaired
middle ear can cause temporary or long-term hearing loss, may be a symptom of illness,
and, if allowed to progress unchecked, may result in permanent damage to the patient's
auditory system and/or surrounding tissues within the mastoid cavity.
Involutions provides a tympanometer designed to provide an easy and rapid assessment
of a patient's middle ear. The unit is also very small and lightweight, allowing nonaudiology
personnel to perform quick screenings of patients outside the hearing testing
area. The unit also integrates with the audiological test system to provide a common
repository for test results.
